Description:

Bluey came to us in the spring of 2025 after a call from our friend and his breeder, Pete Schoueiler. Pete had originally held him back as a stallion prospect, but as his program evolved, he made the decision to geld him and offer him for sale.

At the time, Bluey was a green 4-year-old with limited riding, though he had been used to breed a few mares. That wasn’t a concern for us—especially knowing he had lived within a herd setting. We place a lot of value on herd dynamics, and horses raised with mares often develop a level of respect and balance that translates well into their training.

What stood out immediately was his natural presence. He was obviously a beautiful horse, but more importantly, he had been given time to grow and mature before being pushed. We’ve found that horses brought along this way tend to come into their training with a clearer mind and often progress more efficiently.

We weren’t specifically in the market for a Quarter Horse at the time, but Bluey was the kind you take a chance on. He had a natural way of moving and the look of a horse that could excel in the ranch classes, while still having the mind to be an enjoyable, user-friendly partner.

Through the spring and summer, he stayed in light training. That fall, we hauled him to Utah to give him exposure and experience. He was even one of the few we took out onto the Salt Flats. Between the trail courses and mountain rides, he proved himself over and over with his steady, quiet demeanor.

In March of 2026,  we were contacted by Shannon Dudley, who happened to be in Minneapolis for the day. She had seen a short video we posted on Facebook and reached out to stop by before catching her flight. It didn’t take long—she connected with him right away and purchased Bluey shortly after.

Since then, the pair has already earned top honors at their first two shows together. It’s been incredibly rewarding to watch them succeed doing exactly what we believed he was made for.

We had a strong feeling Bluey would shine in the ranch riding, and it’s been exciting to see that come to life with Shannon.
